July 29 Fishing Report

The Night bass bite was epic the beginning of the week with boat limits of fish up to 49 pounds on the boat scale and caught and released monster fish throughout the remainder of the trips! More giant Blues were mixed in to the catch. The day bite on bass this week has been ok, 3 trips fishing in between the tides produced limited numbers on eels so we had to get on the troll to get the bass to chew.
Light tackle sharkin was fun on Monday with 7 Blues and a small Mako.
Sea Bass action is red hot at the hooter with boat limits of all knot heads up to 4 pounds!
The Fluke seem the know that the size limit is 19" as most of the fish that were caught this week measured 18-18 1/2. Outside of the many shorts that were caught we still managed to grab a couple 7 pounders this week.
The Cod Fishing Has picked up, we got a lot of nice fish this week with a couple 15 pounders mixed in!
After this blow, we will be in full offshore mode as many of the trips are booked for tuna! We still have plenty of weekdays left in August and September for Prime Time Tuna Action and Striped Bass. Call Captain Brian Bacon to book today at 401-243-7046 www.BigGameFishingRI.com

This past week started off with some of the best Bluefin Tuna fishing we have seen in a while with all boats loading up and grabbing fish pushing 150 lbs. All the fish were taken on live bait and we didn't have to go that far to get to the action!
The day and night time Bass bite was off the hook as well! Multiple 50 pounders were landed and released on the night bite and fish up to 47 pounds were taken during the day trips on live eels. Monster Bluefish were mixed in the bass.
Fluke and sea Bass have continued to be consist and with good numbers of recreational keeper fish being taken along with some big sea bass.
The Cod Bite is starting to pick up as well. We had fish up to 15 pounds and good numbers on the Saturday trip.
Sharkin Remains consistent. We had 7 Blue sharks and a small mako yesterday all on spinning gear.

We still have some openings left for the summer season. Call captain Brian to Book today at 401-243-7046 www.BigGameFishingRI.com

July12 Fishing Report

Inshore: This week the bass bite has finally turned on with monster bass taken at night on live eels and fish up to 35 pounds taken on the troll during the day bite. Every drop on the troll is and instant hook up! Giant gator blues are mixed in with the bass. Huge blues up to 15 pounds! Sea bass have invaded the local beaches and reefs, nice keeper sea bass on every drop. Plenty of Fluke around as well.

Offshore: Shark season is in full swing, busted off a 250lb. mako at the boat yesterday after a 45 minute battle on spinning gear. Also had an additional 6 Blue sharks.
Knot Reel Teeth Fished the Snug Harbor Shark Tournament and managed a tally for the weekend of 4 Makos and 16 Blue Sharks. Nothing big enough to bring to the scales but plenty of action none the less. First signs up Bluefin Tuna are starting to show and it should be any time now that the bite will bust wide open.
We had a decent Cod trip yesterday with a Pollock on the first drop mixed in with some nice Cod up to 15 pounds. We did well until the wind picked up and pushed us over 2 knots a drift
