July12 Fishing Report

Inshore: This week the bass bite has finally turned on with monster bass taken at night on live eels and fish up to 35 pounds taken on the troll during the day bite. Every drop on the troll is and instant hook up! Giant gator blues are mixed in with the bass. Huge blues up to 15 pounds! Sea bass have invaded the local beaches and reefs, nice keeper sea bass on every drop. Plenty of Fluke around as well.

Offshore: Shark season is in full swing, busted off a 250lb. mako at the boat yesterday after a 45 minute battle on spinning gear. Also had an additional 6 Blue sharks.
Knot Reel Teeth Fished the Snug Harbor Shark Tournament and managed a tally for the weekend of 4 Makos and 16 Blue Sharks. Nothing big enough to bring to the scales but plenty of action none the less. First signs up Bluefin Tuna are starting to show and it should be any time now that the bite will bust wide open.
We had a decent Cod trip yesterday with a Pollock on the first drop mixed in with some nice Cod up to 15 pounds. We did well until the wind picked up and pushed us over 2 knots a drift
